This is good news.
Anyone in elementary school during or before commencement will remember the thrill of flicking a straw through the bag of Capri Sun juice – a cafe classic that may soon become obsolete.
Capri Sun is said to have plans for a controversial revamp of its signature pouches, which will soon be replaced by bottles and marketed to adults.
Snackolater, a popular Instagram site that shares food news, announced the changes to Capri Sun juices, which will supposedly be available in three bottled flavors, Fruit Punch, Strawberry Kiwi and Pacific Cooler.
According to Snackolater, the changes will be announced at the 2024 National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Show in Las Vegas from October 7 to 10.
However, when contacted by The Post, the Kraft Heinz company clarified that the bags were not going anywhere.
“After fans panicked at the news, the brand behind drink no. 1 of America’s kids is assuring everyone that the bag is here to stay in a truly epic way,” the company said in a statement to The Post. “Releasing exclusively at Walmart Next week, Capri Sun will launch a range of 3,800+ Capri Sun pouches for purchase, ensuring that no one misses out on their favorite drink.
“Fans can follow @caprisun on Instagram and @caprisun_usa on TikTok to find out how they can get their hands on the merchandise.”
Snackolater had caused a flood of applause with his initial post.
“Each bottle is 12oz, and you won’t have to find a place to insert the straw and hope it doesn’t come back!” Snackolater wrote on Instagram. “Are you excited about these?”
The resounding answer? No.
“It won’t be the same without straw! Whose idea was this,” asked one commenter.
“You can’t blow these up and stomp on them just for the sake of them making a loud noise,” complained another.
“I just cried,” someone else wrote, while a rare few were glad they no longer had to struggle with opening straws.
And at X, once on Twitter, one critic said: “I think it’s no exaggeration to say that this is one of the most shocking product changes in the history of food and drink.”
The Kraft Heinz Company-owned brand recently revealed that they would be offering giant jugs of juice to their nostalgic consumers – “the first innovation in almost a decade”.
“With this larger format, everyone, including kids at heart, can bring a piece of their epic childhood to parties, summer gatherings and even dinner at home,” the senior manager said in a statement at the time. of Capri Sun brand, Jordan Mann.
“We are now able to satisfy those fans who grew up at Capri Sun with an offer that suits their needs. They’ve outgrown the serving size of the bag, but not their love of Capri Sun.”
However, the company has yet to officially confirm the rumored revamp of the 12-ounce bottles.
The Post has reached out to Kraft Heinz for comment.
