My son misbehaved at a wedding – the bride had a meltdown and threatened to call insurance

Bridezilla, meet the littlest monster.

The two best friends had a falling out after one accused the other’s 4-year-old of crashing her wedding – during a mis-timed cake-eating incident that almost got shut down by venue security.

The berated parent recently took to Reddit in a since-deleted post to share her side of marital disgust — and question whether she did the right thing by “not apologizing,” according to The Independent.

The upset poster shared that the bride had already been on the fence about having children at her wedding – for fear of “messing things up” according to the beleaguered BFF. It is said that she was ultimately influenced by the input of close friends who are parents.

Things started well, the woman claimed, writing that “I brought in quiet activities to entertain them and everyone behaved. I even cried because of how beautiful it was.â€

“The kids were running around and playing with each other and it was a pretty safe space and I knew almost everyone there so I felt comfortable with my son playing with the other kids while my husband and I had fun dance,” she. has written

But when it came time to cut the cake, it all went horribly wrong — the precocious preschooler made a bee-line for the sugary centerpiece and started helping himself.

“My husband and I push forward to see what’s wrong. I see my son with frost around his mouth and fingers,” she wrote.

Admittedly, the woman said, she and her husband “were a little slow to get there” to accompany the mature lovelorn son — prompting a massive, very public outburst from the bride.

“ A small piece has been removed from the cake. I try to apologize, but my best friend turns around and yells, “This is YOUR FAULT.” Your son ruined my cake.”

The bride’s guilt trip apparently didn’t work out—soon, the two were yelling at each other.

“He’s only here because YOU told me it would be worth it to get the kids involved!” I yelled at him, telling him it was just an accident and the rest of the cake was still edible.

Things escalated even further, with the bride said to have loudly kicked her friend out of the venue – even threatening security if she and her offending offspring didn’t leave.

The bride’s sister later reached out and “apologized” for how things turned out, according to the original account — too late, the poster insisted.

“I think I regret it now after her outburst. I told her sister so and said I expected an apology first before I said anything to her, she wrote. “Not only did she blow me up in front of everyone, but also my son. I am humiliated, but even more angry on his behalf.â€

Despite the bride’s stern reaction, Redditors were quick to give the mom a scornful parenting lesson.

“Your child is very young and needs supervision. It doesn’t matter how secure the location is, there are many things that are NOT secure (like cake, glasses, etc) in the location. Not only should you apologize, you should have apologized right then,” one person commented in the still-live comments thread.

“YOU and your neglectful parenting are the reason people don’t allow children at weddings. You break it down to parents who understand that little ones need supervision and would be with their child making sure they behave and remove them if they don’t,” added another.

“I’m sick of parents thinking just because they’re going to a wedding, family party etc, that means they can just relax and not be parents for a while,” replied a third.
